If I Were Staying at the Brundage Cabin (Seasonal Guide)
If I were staying at our Brundage ski-in ski-out cabin, I would plan a trip around the seasons because McCall truly feels different (and amazing) year-round.
One of the biggest advantages of this cabin is the location. You’re tucked into the mountains just above town, which means you get privacy, views, and direct access to outdoor adventure while still being close enough to enjoy McCall’s restaurants, lake, and events.
Here’s exactly how I would plan a stay here across every season.
WINTER IN MCCALL (Peak Season at Brundage)
If I were staying here in winter, I’d plan most of my days around snow and cozy evenings back at the cabin.
Skiing & Snowboarding (Obviously First)
The best part of staying here is being able to ski directly from the cabin.
Why I Love Brundage:
• Known for incredible powder
• Less crowded than larger resorts
• Great mix of terrain
• Beautiful tree runs
Rentals & Gear Shops Nearby
If I didn’t bring gear, I’d go to:
• Brundage Mountain Rental Shop — easiest option
• Gravity Sports McCall — great selection
• McCall Sports Exchange — budget-friendly
Other Winter Activities I’d Plan
Snowshoeing
• Bear Basin Nordic Trails (one of my favorites)
• Brundage Nordic Center

Winter Events I’d Plan Around
McCall Winter Carnival (must experience)
Includes:
• Ice sculptures
• Torchlight parade
• Live music
• Fireworks
This is one of the most iconic Idaho winter events.
Perfect Winter Food Rotation
After skiing, I’d rotate:
• Salmon River Brewery — casual favorite
• Rupert’s — best dinner
• Steamers Steakhouse — cozy winter night

Spring here is quieter which honestly makes it one of my favorite times to visit.

• Rotary Park — quieter option
• Ponderosa shoreline
